Medical Technology
In medical technology, also known under the term "biomedical engineering", use is made of engineering-scientific and technical principles and approaches to solutions in the area of medicine, diagnostics, therapy, rehabilitation and health care, in order to utilise the effect of medical devices and care and treatment procedures in a more targeted and more effective way for the good of mankind and animals. Nowadays, medical innovations can barely still the put into practice and used without technical aids.
Areas of medical technology are:

- diagnostics
- medical informatics
Inventions for medical technology are included in section A of the International Patent Classification (IPC). Another classification emerges from the technical-physical working principle underlying the invention, so that inventions in the field of medicine can certainly also be found in sections G and H.
